This year the Topiwalla gathering was held at my place during Eid this year. It was a mad rush getting everything organised and prepared. But in the end it all paid off. Ramadan Mubarak to all!

I would like to wish one and all Ramadan Mubarak, wishing that this year, fasting won’t be too difficult. Regardless, its mandatory and should be taken as both a form of health and spiritual cleansing.

Often, I’ve been reminded that now, with a kid, I need to watch what I say. Vulgar, obscene words still can be heard coming out from my mouth. I do feel ashamed when I say it in the presence of my son but I can’t help it, now with Ramadan, I am forced to practice refraining from these things.
You see, its not just about fasting, its about spiritual cleansing too. Not thinking about things that are not morally right, not saying things to hurt others, you know that sort of thing.

Other than that, its a health benefit too. As my colleagues and some of my friends remind me its like a super-detox.

So to all those fasting, good luck, well wishes and may Allah help you in every step of the way.

Fruit fest at Joo Chiat CC

After the tiring morning at Bedok Reservoir Park with the CC and some ministers, there was another Community Center event. This time it was at the center itself. FRUIT FEST! This is when residents of Joo Chiat get free flow of tropical fruits to eat to their hearts content. All for free. That’s right, we had durians, lychees, rambutans, pears, bananas, mangosteens and a whole lot more for FREE. Only catch, no taking home and you must eat what you ask for. Residents, volunteers and the minister guest of honour, Mr Chan Soo Sen, were all elated and I guess you guys must be wondering what it was like so here are some pics.

Hey, before I begin blogging about stuff, let me just introduce myself. Im Murtuza Topiwalla a flash developer from Singapore. I married to arwa, my wonderful wife since 2006 and I’ve got 1 kid. Im not going to write his age or I’ll have to modify this post again. I enjoy exploring new technology and playing around with new gadgets, fortunately that also constitutes part of my job.

Apart from work or work related activities, I enjoy playing soccer, bowling, watching movies and traveling. I shall be blogging about any of the above and probably more. So do read and follow my blog.
